小鸟走路…

To remember, be the memory To yearn, be the dream

3. On the way to Meli Mountain

b/f i jumped on this trip, i just planed to go to Meili Mountain and I did do research, but not fairly enough. If you didn’t do detailed research b/f u travel, the bad thing is u may miss out some nice places that you should and must be. But, the good thing is there will be many surprises on the way without knowing.

After we got Lijiang, we started to find other fellows to go north. On the peak time, it is very common to see the message, for looking for fellow traveler, on the info board in every inn. And another way is to go to the hiking club to collect the info and leave your details and message there, and the club members will contact you when they find the people with similar planned route with u, which I think is quite convenient and efficient.

If you want to go north, you have to find a guide and a driver, because it is Tibetan area and the road condition is seriously complex and dangeous. Part of the trip is even a very narrow track with a sheer drop of serveral thousand feed down to Jinsha River on the side. I still remember the guys sit on the right side by the window, were scared, they even couldn’t look outside.

Baima Mountain. The attitude is around 4300m to 4400m, where is the highest point in this journey. On the way to Meili mountain, there r some places w/high attitude. I’m lucky that i didn’t get any attitude stress during our trip. But at Baima, i felt a bit hard to breathe after I ran. I ran because i can’t help. It’s like being in a dream, the snow mountains were just in front of us, the clouds were lower makes me feel i can touch the sky. It was the first time I saw this kind of scenery. If I have to use a word to describe it, it is “magnificent”, yes, but actually even this word is not strong enough. It even made me feel proud of being a Chinese. I can’t see any of these kind of views in Australia at all.
